About Me

I have been a psychologist since 2005 and have worked in schools, community health and private practice. My approach as collaborative, in that I do not view myself as the expert in the room. You are the expert on you, and I bring expert knowledge on how you can draw on your strengths, make changes to unhelpful patterns of thinking and doing, or support you to decide on new directions. Together, we work on the things that are most important to you at a pace that is right for you.

When I am not doing what I love for work, you can find me striving to ensure that I practise what I "preach" by doing the things that help keep my own life in balance. Typically, this involves time with the important people in my life and a mix of keeping active, being still and finding joy. And chocolate.
How can I help you?
Our modern lives are full of challenges, which can get in the way of living a balanced life. Almost 1 in every 2 adults experience mental health as one of those challenges. Stressful work and life transitions, relationship difficulties, coping with loss and grief, the impact of trauma, mood difficulties, anxiety, substance use, parenting and family stress can all have a significant impact on how we cope with life's challenges. To help you navigate the challenges you are facing, I use evidence-based treatments and have training in a range of therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). There is no one size fits all, so I adopt and adapt the techniques that will fit best with you. Click here to find out more about the kinds of things I can help with.
